The Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Program (SEAP) provides an opportunity for high school students to participate in research at a Department of Navy (DoN) laboratory during the summer.
The goals of SEAP are to encourage participating high school students to pursue science and engineering careers, to further their education via mentoring by laboratory personnel and their participation in research, and to make them aware of DoN research and technology efforts, which can lead to employment within the DoN.
SEAP is providing competitive research internships to 300 high school students this year. Participating students spend eight weeks during the summer doing research at 35 DoN laboratories. APPLY NOW
*The Department of Navy and Marine Corps remains committed to providing enriching internship opportunities, but due to the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19, at this time we cannot guarantee that the summer 2021 program will take place in-person at the ONR labs. We are currently planning next summer as an in-person program, but students should be aware that the program may be shifted to a virtual program at any time between now and summer 2021.
