BioSense: Cells, Signals, and Sensors
Offered in collaboration with the CUNY ASRC and CZ Biohub, BioSense is a hands-on exploration of the senses; investigating how specialized sensorial cells detect the world around us and how signals travel through the body and brain. Using microscopy, coding, electronics, and Arduino-based sensors, students will build technologies that mimic and extend human sensing, including using the electrical signals in their forearm to command a robotic gripper. BioSense combines biology, engineering, and technology into an exciting research experience where students learn by building, experimenting, and discovering.
